Oral History of a Billionare

Imagine being immortal to the most fatal things; for example a zombie breaking into your house and slaughtering you until your blood turns into brownish black goo. This is how Breckinridge "Brick" Scott felt while being trapped where the record low temperature has been recorded, Antarctica. While "Brick" was trapped in Antarctica Jesika Hendricks was in Canada suffering from the effects of the zombie war. These are 2 different stories of 2 different people in the roughest of times but because of the outcome of events they see things differently for the rest of their lives.

In the book World War Z a journalist is going around the world and gathering stories from survivors of the tragic zombie war. In this book there are many stories all raping into the same time periods of the zombie war. In these two very different stories one man is living the time of his life the other woman is starving through the harsh cold.

Jesika's point of view in this story would make the zombie war seem like the worst thing ever(which it was pretty bad). Jeskia's family had found a group of other people that had traveled to the great white north. They were fine for a while but they started to starve and freeze. When these events occurred everything got worst; everyone was stealing and when there was no food what so ever they turned to cannibalism.

If you were to take Jesika's story and make the point of view "Brick's" this story(like many others) would drastically change. Brick would be nice and comfy in his dome making thousands by the second because of his phony drug Phalanx which is supposed to make you immune to zombie bites. If you were to read this book in the point of view of a person like Brick this zombie war would be a huge joke. Also there would be no point for writing this book on the zombie war.

So now imagine being immortal but, billions of other people suffering.  No one can be immortal but if someone was it would be Breckinridge Scott. He sees this war as revenue while everyone else is in a chaotic world trying to survive. If Max Brooks had put more stories in Bricks point of view this would not be the chaotic and exhilarating book that he made it to be. As you can see there are many different stories all different while resulting in the same pain of the zombie war branded in their head for life.

Foreshadowing

There is astonishing foreshadowing in the short story " The Lottery " by Shirley Jackson. The lottery is about a community coming together to stone a selected individual. In the beginning of the story it mentions kids running around, playing and gathering stones into piles and shoveling them into pockets. If you were to read this for the first time you wouldn't think much of the stones but, it is a key point in the story.

Foreshadowing is giving hints in the text that are shown and affect the story later. In " The Lottery " there are small points in foreshadowing and there are big ones. In this story as I mentioned earlier, the stones are a huge hint because if you read the short story for the first time you would think the kids gathering stones would be to stone someone, you would think they were playing. This is how the author shows foreshadowing in a discrete matter

For quality windows siding and doors call 866 4Feldco

Hi my names paul; i'm a window on 42nd streets Wilson house. Over the years the Wilsons have neglected to clean us the windows on their house. We have gone through deep freezes of the winter, rapid rain in the spring along with blazing dust storms but the worst, the dead bugs. I wish I could just flick the bugs off but, with what hands. I have been crying out to them to not just wash me but all of us knowing that they've gone through the same thing as I.

Finally it was summer and we really got their attention. We would close right when they opened us and when they closed us we opened, by golly they were furious. It finally looked like we were about to be cleaned  until the Wilson kid showed up with his gang of friends. They started to play baseball and what do you know they broke Fred the window just above me. Immediately Mrs Wilson started to panic and call Feldco, soon after they replaced ted they took a look at all of us. They were finally thinking of cleaning us when they decided it would take to long and they would need more elbow grease than what they had.

Sadly right before the repair men had left Mr Wilson asked them to replace all of us and so we sit now in a landfill longing to be cleaned.

The Man Village Book(more like essay)

If you've ever seen a show like "Law and Order" you know everyone has a role but you never get to see everyone's view on things . In The Jungle Book there are many characters just like a TV show. There is the lead or main character and sub characters you don't get the whole story on. When you don’t get the sub characters stories you don't know this question; Are they more important than the main character?

In the book The Jungle Book the main character is Mowgli (jungle word for frog) given to him by his wolf pack. Mowgli strayed away from his village and had to learn the ways of the jungle. If we take Mowgli's view in this book and truly analyze It; the results would show that he was a young boy trying to live and learn the ways of the jungle(not by choice) while coming upon the struggles of the Banderlog and Sherkhan some of the most hated animals in the jungle. Then its also a happy time for Mowgli, he finds his birth mom and overcomes the struggles of Sherkhan and the Banderlog If anyone else were to be the main character this story would have drastic changes.

If you were to take this story from the point of view of a human in this story not animal but a human like the chief hunter in the Man-Village you would see a very different story.  The chief hunter hates Mowgli after Mowgli comes back and calls him a buffoon and an idiot because the stories he told were true but he though they were wrong. Then he went to not only hunt the tiger(which Mowgli killed) but also eliminate Mowgli. When the hunter said that Mowgli used magic they believed him and Mowgli became an outcast. Mowgli destroyed the land and saved his family, while rescuing jungle and killing man.

So as you can see without  Mowgli there would be no story; therefore no essay to see if the point of view of a sub character could be more important. Now your asking why is this relevant; well this essay is worth nothing because I would be a sub character to Ruyard Kippling who is the writer(main character) and with no writer there is no book which means there isn't an essay. All in all without the main characters point of view there is no point.
