Litterary Analyisis of Mary Poppins

What would it be like to see a women floating out of the sky? In this story we meet two children of a British family. The children are going through nannies like thin air. The children want a nanny that exceeds their expectations but their father Mr. Banks is as stubborn as an ox and won’t let that happen. Mr. Banks wants his children to grow up just like him in every way shape and form. The romantic plot-line and symbolism together with the unrealisticness of this story teach us the moral lesson of escapism and how to escape everyday life by just dreaming into your own imaginary land which is something their father never believes because he can never picture things being better than they really are.



The plot-line of the story Mary Poppins perfectly fits that of romantic literature. In the beginning, the minor conflict is that their dad is all fed up with his children and doesn’t care what they think. Their father thinks that they need the meanest, leanest, and toughest nanny in the world but that won’t solve his problem. Soon after he denies the children of their needs Marry Poppins swoops in and saves the day by talking it over with Mr. Banks. After that everything gets better and the kids start having fun and stop being trouble makers. Once things get fine and dandy for the children everything gets gloomy too. Their dad takes them to the bank that he works at and the children meet the owner and president of the bank. Mr. Banks son took a shiny gold coin to the bank wanting to give it to the lady with the birds but his dad denies that. Soon the pres/owner swipes the money out of the boys hands. Quickly the boy said they took my money at the top of his lungs and repeats it running through the bank. All the people in the bank heard and everybody wanted their money back thinking theirs was going to get taken so the bank had closed up shop for that day due to the boy. Later in the story Mr. Banks got fired but it was one of the best things that happened to him that day he regained a friendship with his kids.



In addition to the plot-line fitting the romantic mode of literature, so does the symbolism found in the story. In the beginning it started out all gloomy which is usually sad but which is different this story is happy but as the story goes on it gets sunnier following the kid’s attitude. Later in the painting dreamland themed area there are bright colors, flowers, dancing, carnivals, animals, flying, laughing, and all throughout the story singing.



Finally, in the story Mary Poppins the main character is in control and the other characters behave in a realistic way except for the other magic people. Mary and the children, the main characters, are definitely in control throughout the story as they go on mini journeys together. In addition to that they are all good and strong in every situation they face especially against Mr. Banks. Also Mr. Banks Is out smarted and falls into every trap he comes to as he is evil. In this story everything is a fantasy vision or unrealistic which makes everything seem better than they really are.



The story Mary Poppins portrays a warm group of people, helping each other to get along. Through the use of symbolism the author lets us as readers and viewers identify with the troubles that the real world brings and how we have to work together with the people we love or hate to solve those problems. When the dad joins the both of the kids for life symbolism, the romantic line is complete and the reader and viewer experiences relief and a restored family in Brittan.

Super Heroes

There are many super heroes in the comics and movies. But most of them only have gadgets and are nothing without them. Like for example Batman he only has gadgets even though he is buff. All super heros have side kicks and fight for the good.

Jungle

The jungle is a wild and crazy as my room. Anything and everything can live in it even I find tnew things every day. When my mom walks past my room she gets pissed and I have to pick it up every day she thinks that I have learned my lesson but I haven't . That is what the jungle is in my eyes.

Short Stories

It was a windy day when the man crossed the road and went into the bus station. The man waited hours and hours for the bus to come the sun drew to dusk. There were cars filling the street with light. One man pulled to the side of the road and saw this man sitting at the bus stop. The man in the car called him in. He said “sir why are you letting me in your car” The other man said “where do you want to go”. Later that day they went shopping and did everything together. Both the men felt great. The homeless guy felt great his life had been changed because of that one man. The man brought him in but since the homeless guy had no education what so ever he thought he was being kidnapped. So the man looked panicky through the house to find a gun finally he found a 44. Magnum and held the man hostage and copied a famous quote now you have to question your self did I fire 5 shots or 6 well are you felling lucky punk well do ya. Then the man called the police and the homeless man ran and ran until the page ended.

Haloween

Halloween is one of the best holidays of the year it might not get recognized every where but it sucks for the people that don't get it. I got 20lbs of candy this year. Some new family's in my neighborhood don't know the bowl rule yet but I think I taught them. The bowl rule is when it says take one but since they aren't home you take all of it. When the bowl rule thinks that you have no soul when you go to some houses other bowl rulers have taken it, that's bad karma. I take trick or treating as a sport.

Dinos

Everybody knows that dinosaurs go roar, everybody knows that dinosaurs go roar, everybody knows that dinosaurs go roar. Well you get the point. Dinos are big cute and cuddly they can fly you around. The ones with long necks you can ride on for fun. Dinos are fun.

Video Games

My favorite game is The new medal of honor. Medal of Honor is a war game that deals with the modern day. You rank up as you get more kills with that class as the game goes on you become a higher level and you naturally get better but the main reason it is my favorite video game is all the war and killing.

Sports

Football is my favorite sport in the world. Football you get to hit the kid you hate the most as hard as possible. You can just plain out deck them in practice or a game. But the best feeling is when you win and everybody on your team did something great.

Patriotism

What is patriotism? Patriotism is the love for our country and the will to respect every bit of it. When you go to a sporting event take off your hat to show respect to all soldiers and our country. Many people debate if our country has patriotism but most of the people believe we do and I am one of those people. If we as a country didn’t have any patriotism it would be hectic and there would be no point of our soldiers fighting in wars.
America needs patriotism through everybody but if you really think about it we as a country especially need it from our soldiers. They need patriotism more than we think. Patriotism is the pride that drives them they are going to fight even harder than others. When they sleep they wonder if they’re going to make it another day and wondering if they’ll ever see their family again and we should thank them for that. I know I said that soldier’s patriotism levels are higher than ours but we still have patriotism.
Although soldiers show patriotism, all people of the US need to show patriotism, too. We as people of the United States of America show patriotism every day whether you think about doing it or not. There are many forms of patriotism in the everyday life of an American. You can fold a flag right and believe it or not that is patriotism. Most everything you do your being patriotic every day at school you pledge your allegiance. Everybody does something patriotic every day. Reasons for our patriotism are all our amendments for our country. It all starts with the amendments.
The reason we can show our patriotism and be proud with it is because of all our all amendments like freedom of speech. Freedom of speech allows us to say whatever we want but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any consequences. For example if we say something bad to our parents we could get grounded. So we show the best patriotism for having to use the amendments wisely.
We as a country need patriotism otherwise there would be complete opposites in America. No one would want to import to our country and no one would help us. Everything would be hectic without someone controlling our country and help piece us the US back together. That’s my view on why we need patriotism.
